I've worked in a few different jobs, as a teaching assistant, FE teacher and journalist, but having Asperger's Syndrome has always made me feel like a stranger in a foreign land.
Books have been my constant companion through this strange journey so I decided to make them my life.
I’ve spent the last five years buying books to sell on, I have a shop on Ebay with over 400 positive reviews and 100% positive feedback.
I love to get a book a good home. So I’ve spent a lot of time in auction houses buying books by the box full, actually by several boxes full. Every auction is like Christmas – because no matter how well you dig in the viewing, you never know what you’re going to get until you get it home and unpack it.
Being with books gives me a great feeling of calm and friendship and I hope to be able to share that with as many people as I can, especially in this time of the perpetual screen. Unlike the screen books are a sensory experience - the soft, smooth feel of the pages; the wholesome smell of dust and paper, the voice in your head, the million voices in your heads of endless characters; it is unique and the reason it has survived for thousands of years.
I have chosen the best of my books to list on Etsy so that I can share my love of the art of the book.
I choose books with quality, beauty and interest at heart. Any defects are listed honestly. My aim is to ensure that every book finds a happy home - I hope that my personal relationship with books extends to a personal relationship with the people who read them.
