This vintage historical novel is in acceptable reading condition:
- the cover has a Boots Library sticker and splash marks on the front and a large white mark on the back; the spine is discoloured
- inside the pastedowns have split and the covers are loose but intact
- there is some foxing on the edges of the pages and on the flysheets
- some of the pages have creasing on the edges and corners
- page 76 has a dog-eared top corner
- the contents page and page 9 has a small dog-ear on the bottom corner
