Blurb reads:
Written by a Master of Craft who is also a master of graphic descriptive language that grips the imagination. The Author's experience is wide and varied. In fact it may be said to range from "Greenland's Icy Mountains to India's Coral Strand". And every phase of sea adventure is depicted in terms of truth.
He gives us tales of the marvellous; the incredible, the weird and the unique. There are tragic experiences, sea comedy and sea mystery. One reads of Plague Ships, and of Whaling in the icy North, and also of the thrill associated with diamond smuggling. One gathers, incidentally, what life was like on Cape Horner in those days when the final arbiter was the belaying pin.
Jack's proverbial weakness for a drop when ashore provides the necessary touch of humour, and the tales are ample proof that Truth is stranger than Fiction.
