The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens, 1902, The Imperial Edition, published by The Gresham Publishing Company, London. Hardback, 419 pages
This antique hardback is beautifully illustrated by HM Brock.
It is in acceptable condition:
- the cover has wear and rubbing, as well as discolouration, marks, staining and fading
- inside there are newspaper clippings from the 1958 BBC Sunday Serial on the front flysheets
- the pages are unevenly bound causing some tatty edges including small creases and tears
- pages 94-5 have been cut badly causing a large part of page 95 to be attached to page 94, and a large missing part on page 95 (see pics)
- some other pages have also been badly cut, causing some missing parts on the edges - none affect the text
- there is some minor foxing and occasional stains in the margins (eg. pp 256-7)
