This antique children's hardback is beautifully illustrated throughout in black and white, and with some colour plates.
It includes American history and literature, as well as Burns, Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Shakespeare (see contents below).

It is in fair condition:
- the cover has wear, rubbing and a missing part on the front picture
- inside there is a name on the inside front cover
- a couple of pages have small tape repairs on the edge (see pics)
- page 180 has some scuffing on the title
- there is some minor foxing throughout
